Five years ago we said I do. It was just us. Since then we’ve done what we’ve needed to do for us. Realising that our relationship is the one that is most important. Our lives were full but there were a few spaces waiting to be filled. We always wanted a child, and while we couldn’t have one, another walked into our lives with her little suitcase and a heart filled with love. The other space waiting to be filled was that of like-minded friends. Friendships that were strong and grounded. And just like Miss 11 and her suitcase and her heart filled with love, these friendships came too. Our lives, our work and our love have been transformed by these people. They have made our lives so much more extraordinary than we could have hoped or imagined. For our fifth wedding anniversary Miss 11 and our friends Ropate and Gitte Kama from Kama Catch Me photography gave us the most remarkable lessons of life, love and friendship: to go and just be. Just be. Be you. Be the real you, it’s the best you and it’s the you that you will find the most beautiful. Ropate and Gitte capture who people really are better than anyone else we know. Sometimes I feel like they really see you, for who you are and their photos never lie, ever. Miss 11, bless her, the real her is the only her she knows how to be. So this is us, the real us…

Thank you to Miss 11 for being the best Miss 11 anyone could ask for and to our friends Ropate and Gitte for capturing who we are. No amount of money or words could every convey how grateful we are to have our love and family captured in these photos. Regardless of how the world sees us, this is how we see ourselves. Light hearted, carefree and somewhat juxtaposed against our more serious work and [my] extravagant leanings. And finally Kama’s – you caught us x
