Many bloggers either at the beginning of their blogging journey or later on begin thinking about partnering with their favourite brands. I’ve had the pleasure of working with a handful of brands in such an organic way over a number of years. In almost all of the collaborations the brand was already one I used and it was I who approached them with an offer, proposal or idea. A while ago I sat down with the Co-Founder of Popbasic Madeline Veenstra to answer questions we received about the brand and blogger relationship. Popbasic is a brand that I’ve purchased, supported and later collaborated with since the launch of the business over two years ago.

In this podcast Maddy and I discuss: how our blog/brand relationship came about, the importance of numbers vs community, how to approach brands, having a theme for your blog vs blogs that dabble in everything, brand processes and behind the scenes stories, how to build trust and create a following, building brand and blog consistency (it takes times), general decreased trends in commenting and managing brand/blogger expectations.

You can listen to the podcast here. We’d love to know what you think and let us know if you have any questions.

Great stuff, Vanisha! I work with brands occasionally if they fit well with my content. I think what's been important for my past partnerships has been quick and open communication, laying out expectations and producing quality content.
